story of watchkeeping officer - kisah masuk cargo tank...

entri kerja paras...masuk tank..kura tank..masuk tank..kuar tank....

ini rupa cargo tank kat chemical tanker...tp ini bukan tank kapal aku..tp rupa dia lebih kurang camni laa....

ini kisah masuk dalam cargo tank masa zaman aku kadet atas chemical tanker dulu...gambo xde..so aku cilok dari internet je...wahahaa...

masa 1st year..batchmate aku dok seriau nak naik LNG...sbb kapalnya dikhabarkan bagai hotel...(dalam majalah tiga pun cakap camtu)...kena lak trade gi Japan ichiban...mmg org nk gi laa...so disebabkan aku malas belajar dan sedikit kurang pandai..dgn pointer x cecah pun 3.5...maka aku x dpt naik LNG carrier...office antar aku naik chemical tanker...

nama aku naik...depa suruh sign on Melati class chemical tanker...masa tu dlm fleet..Melati class kira paling masyuk laa...x teruk sgt..x mewah sgt...ngam2 je...kira x seteruk Anggerik class...ye ke Anggerik class teruk...member aku idup je balik lepas dok sana 6 bln...ngahahaha....

anyway...memandangakan chemical tanker ni keje dia bawak cargo caca merba...so cargo tank dia rajin lah para pegawai ngan crew kuar masuk...sume skali ade 32 bijik tank...dr tank 9 center yg besar cam 2 court futsal smpailah 6 center wing tank yg kecik cam bilik mayat je...(suka ati aku je bilik mayat...)

sebab apa tank kapal ni orang rajin kuar masuk....?

 tu Felda nye tank farm...dlm tu sume minyak masak yg mak korang guna utk goreng ikan..kapal aku yg bawak...

mula2 sebab kargo dia...kalau bawak palm oil product...time discharge kena tolak minyak...ini bukan minyak petrol ke apa...ini minyak masak seri murni yg mak korang guna time goreng ikan...dok dlm tank tu...panas dia cecah 70 degree celcius...kalau x tolak..rugi laa...

kadang2 kena tolak palm oil product yg sikit liat cam PFAD (palm fatty acid distillate)...PAO(palmatic acid olein)...palm styrene...macam2 lak...ini kalau x tolak..mmg lekat laa dlm tank tu...styrene cilaka skit sbb dia bila keras jadi cam lilin...tp yg paling cilaka adalah PAO...ini kargo bau dia Masya-allah...meleleh air mata..air hidung...kena lak benda ni bau dia lekat satu badan..mandi seminggu pn x ilang..pastu dia punya melekit..kalah dodol raya aji...

sebab kedua kenapa selalu masuk cargo tank ni...bilamana kapal involve dlm tank cleaning...ini dibuat lepas habis cargo discharge...sebab tank kena kasi bersih..supaya next kargo x kne pencemaran..x rosak...kena lak last kargo bawak asid ke...benzene ke...mmg kena cuci habis..kalau x bila masuk palm oil...habis contaminated...kargo kena reject...

haha...itu lah kurang lebih pasal masuk cargo tank...

cakap pasal masuk dlam cargo tank...posting safety yg lepas ad aku cakap pasal percaution sblm masuk dlm tank ni...

ok..

check gas percentage dlu..oksigen brape..hydrocarbon brape..toxic gas brape..x puas ati..ventilate lagi...

sblm masuk tank...kena ada permit...permit ni dipanggil permit kemasukan ruang terkurung..atau kat kapal dipanggil enclosed space entry permit...

permit ni di issue oleh chief officer...dan permit ini sah laku utk kerja2 berkaitan kemasukan ke dlm enclosed space ni..baik dlm cargo tank..ballast tank...atau mana2 compartment kapal yg x dapat pengudaraan yg cukup..cam pumproom...atau cable locker utk anchor kapal...

tujuan permit ni di issue adalah bg membolehkan pegawai atau crew yg terlibat mengambil langkah2 keselamatan sblm masuk dlm satu2 compartment tu...dlm permit ni di siapkan checklist..yg mana duty officer atau responsible officer akan check da make sure yg procedure2 dah di laksanakan...

so sebelum masuk tank atau mana kompartmen...perlu di pasti kan yg tank tu dah di ventilate iaitu di bukak dan di salurkan dgn bekalan udara...samada pakai blower atau bukak je cover dan biar satu hari satu malam...kalau x kasi ventilate..sapa masuk mmg mampus...byk kes org mati dlm tank ni kalau nk tau...dlm tank tu pun bukan ade oksigen ke..ada pun sikit...tp yg byk toxic gases yg bikin mampus...

bila dah wat ventilation...kena check lak berapa peratus oksigen dalam tank tu sebelum masuk...ini utk bg green light samada tank boleh da selamat utk dimasuk atau x...oksigen di check guna oxygen detector..percentage oksigen ni..minimum kalau x silap 18% utk standard working prcatice..tp sbg company safe practice...kita setting lebih dr 18%..maknanya 20% atau 21% tu baru dikira selamat...


 PPE jgn lupa...!!..kasi check dlu sblm masuk...



bila dah puas ati...then kena check lak...org nk masuk tank tu pakai protective gear yg betul...coverall...goggle...gloves...safety shoes...helmet...torchlight...radio...lifeline...semua siap...


then...kena ensure lak..yg safety equipment dah ready..ini utk emergency dan equipment dia terdiri dr BA set..resucittator...first aid kita..strecther...suma siap...

dah puas hati...semua barang ok...check radio lak...wat comm check...kalau bateri lalak..tukar...krg dlm tank tu bukan korang leh nk tukar2 bateri...pastu kena setting laa ngan dut officer...report setiap lima minit ke..utk ensure everything is ok....bila satisfactory..then baru masuk tank...

kat luar tank tu...kena ade org standby...dia ni pak pacak..kalau ada apa2..dia dulu ambik tindakan...selain jd papan iklan yg menunjukkan ade orang dalam tank tu...kalau xde org jaga...krg ade lak yg gi tutup tank tu...pd hal dlm ade org...ni kes pernah jadi...kadet masuk dlm tank...pastu org tutup...sapa pun x tau smpailah org carik2 x jumpa...rupa2nya ada dlm tank..tp dah lambat...kadet tu mati lemas...time tank tu ditutup..kebetulan control room commence ballasting...mmg xde chance bdk2 tu....

ini standard prosedur bila kena hambat ngan el kapitan yg suruh masuk tank....kalau cargo tank...lain skit..sbb ade ganti2 orang kuar masuk.especially time tolak minyak dlm tank...panas weyh...lalu nk duduk dlm kawah dodol bersuhu 70 darjah celsius...time tu kena pakai stokin tebal2...kasut phua chu kang tu bukan leh tahan panas....melecur weyh..minyak goreng ikan kot...

kalau masuk cargo tank LNG pun lain skit..walaupun asas prosedur dia sama...so lain kapal lain cara...
hahaha....

so..kerja kapal ni pun bukan senang...ada risiko..ada bahaya dia..bukan cam naik pleasure cruise ok...itu kapal honeymoon...camtu la kurang lebih....

byk lagi...tu nnt lepas aku turun kapal dh jd 3rd officer aku cerita...nk cite kurang lebih nih...takut salah fact..salah sebut...

haha....camtulah...
