Welcome Aboard Mariners Alike - Malaysia Rule The Waves

its hard to describe how a man could left everything he had on land and went out to sea...
its even harder to describe how bright the stars at night and how fresh the cool morning air when you are in the middle of the ocean...
the hardest thing is to describe how close you are to death and how god could took your life at any time...
come to sea and see for yourself...

GOD SPEED AND FAIR WINDS

this blog is dedicated to mariners, navigators and seafarers alike, merchant or naval for others to had a glimpse of what we do and what we faced in the vast blue oceans.

Heads up mates...here comes Naval Auxiliary BUNGA MAS 6...!!!

entri kapal escort pemburu lanun kurus somalia yg kelaparan...this is good..

she is grey and she is an auxiliary..please be afraid of her...she bite like her sister!!

All those skinny pirate should think of being a farmer instead of pirates. The addition of BM6 means that RMN is capable of covering a much larger area escorting Malaysian merchant fleets compared having a single escort platform previously.

Plus having two vessels is a great advantage where in case one of the platform are required to sail back home for maintenance or something, the other will continue to stay at the gulf for escort duties, giving continuous protections to our nation merchant fleet.

At the same time, it is good to have two. At least they lighten the burden of one platform. When BM5 was stationed in the Gulf, she had to ply east and west and back non stop. Now with her sister, the escort pattern would be a bit different.

Now go get them. Don`t let your guards down. And kick those skinnies hard.

Forward and advance.

the story of a watchkeeping officer - stories from the Gulf of Aden

entri cerita orang tua2....budak2 dengar je jangan menyampuk...

i try to put gambar...but the internet is sungguh slow like tenggiling

One thing that I always look forward to when sailing is having PASKAL team onboard our good vessel as shipboard protection units while transiting piracy area.

The sight of BM5 and its helicopter or zodiac coming to our vessel is something not many could experience.
But stories from members of our nation special operation units are thing that everyone really looks forward to hear.

Many of the members of shipboard protection units came from special operation forces well known to the public..PASKAL..GGK…PASKAU are the norm in the military.

It is something different when you have these guys on board. They recall their stories in the good old days when in basic training, going abroad for peacekeeping missions in some god forsaken land of no peace and sometimes stories you never know from mainstream media or from any popular military blogs or forums.

At least we heard something else apart from vetting inspection, port state control, SMS compliance and all sorts of day to day demands and messages which kept on coming to our vessel.

Truth to be told, I am excited to sail due to Ops Fajar, having the chance to see BM5 and having PASKAL onboard protecting our ship. It is above everything else. OK I lied…it’s because of money that I took the path as a seafarers really..but there is some fun here and there..

To myself, the PASKAL team and I are like families. Some of the members I knew since I was a kid and for most of the time I grew up with these guys around, meaning to say having them onboard is like having part of my family here.

Its good to have you guys here. Nicely done.

the story of a watchkeeping officer - of fighter jets and a ship

entri nasehat melalut...dont read this...this is crap... : P

kids....when you grow up..join the air force and fly one of these...

Seafaring is not a glamorous career.

Being a fighter pilot does. People know that a fighter pilot is a man who drives a multimillion dollar, state of the art fighter jets.

He is solely responsible for the aircraft he flies, he got his own call sign, capable of going to mach speed, taking out enemy aircraft or ground forces with loads of weapons designed only to kill, and in some occasions public could meet these knights of the air at air shows, getting an autograph, picture etc.

And the best part about it is that every single person knew that these guys are the one flying in times of peace and will be defending our skies in times of war.

Kids, if you reading this site take my advice. Get yourself straight and become a fighter pilot instead of a seafarer. Flying is much fun than sailing.

This is my stupid advice. Don`t read and ignore.Please....

the story of a watchkeeping officer - it ain`t easy mate

entri nasehat...i gave stupid advice...don`t read them...

i can`t stay here forever eh...??

I really can’t sleep tonight. I deserve a much needed rest for I have been sleeping for 4 hours every day.

Paperwork…maintenance…watch keeping..and more paperwork…thinking about that special someone who still out there and still didn’t even exist in my textbook of life….life changing decision…of whether I should stay here where demands are increasing day by day and my mind can’t really cope up with it…or shall I leave to a greener pastures…where payment aren’t as much as what I get now but the pressure and demands are not quite as provoking and devastating as where I am now…

Yes…I have been thinking a lot of going away from MISC….maybe to some other small offshore company…or maybe to get a DP cert and work with any DP consortium…or maybe just lay low setting up a small business where I can do what I like…things that I love…

I love sailing…but it is not really a wonderful career….shipping industry especially on tankers is the most regulated industry on the planet…there are regulations for everything….even for throwing out shit.. .

And every part of the regulations require total compliance…a non compliance will result in a ship or a company to lose its business….and somebody losing his/her job…

So hear me out…if any of you reading this site…looking for a great prospect at sea going to 50 plus foreign country for a free holiday…think hard and get yourself straight…shipping is not an easy business…driving ship is easy but you have to shoulder a burden costing multimillion dollar worth of ship..cargo and the priceless human lives…and staying on board for 6-7 months is not a holiday cruise…unless you work on board Star Cruises…right..??

That is what you get for a salary 7 times the amount a normal person gets on shore….somebody died on your watch…then you are same as dead…same goes when you drive the ship and hit another buggers driving his ship…then you are also same as dead…

This is not an easy job…  : P
