Yes this is not some joke as it happened to myself in the middle of the South Atlantic.

It was cold to the bone that particular morning, as southern winter wind blowing outside. Meanwhile it was like a freezer inside the bridge since we cant turn off the air conditioning. Centralize aircond do have its own drawbacks.

there were no maritime traffic in the vicinity. Another quiet and silent early morning, with no stars and moon in the skies as overcast skies were reported to persist in the coming weeks.

It is abnormal to be alone on the bridge when ship`s are on long ocean passage as at time there should be at least an assistant wstchkeeper tagging along but since we are short on hands for deck for maintenance and task required to be completed by chief officer so the helmsmen cum assistant watchkeeper will be taken off from shift rotation and instead will be on day work, with provisions that in any case the OOW needs them, he can be called up immediately to assist on the bridge.

back to my story....

i was looking out front, standing close to the integrated nav panels and its a norm to lean your back at the center navigation console with your feet close to the center gyro repeater. At that time it is the best position to keep your situational awareness.

an hour passed without anything exciting in particular apart from the bridge navigational watch alarm that kept on shouting every 12 minutes.

then while gazing through the dark skies....

A PAT ON MY RIGHT SHOULDER....

startled, i turn my head and there is no one around, and i knew for fact that there is no one expect me on the bridge..and there is no sign of entry through the door from the staircase or from the sliding doors leading to the bridge wings. Both doors on port and starboard are kept shut and locked.

i kept myself calm....i cite my prayers

in these oceans...it is known that there are a lot of lost souls who perished and shipwrecked

and their presence are still around. Some say their soul is chained and unable to get to the netherworld.....still as a Muslim this is not the case of an understanding of souls and spirit....but then i knew for sure that there are other beings that lives among us in its own dimension....

nothing had happened after that....until a few days later....

I HAD ANOTHER PAT ON MY RIGHT SHOULDER

then there was none until the day i leave the ship....
there are a lot of other ghost stories revolves around us mariners....among them was the white lady....the voices in the engine room....the calling of your name on the main decks....there are also stories of how people sees entities in a form of human being in cabins....and so forth...

the ocean are wide and had endless boundary.....many ship and its crew perished since the day man put up sails and cross the ocean to explore new world....many more of them died in catastrophic ways...in sea battles...in treacherous storm...explosions and accidents that sent ships and its crew to the dark abyss....

this is only one of my encounters with the unseen spirits that roams the ocean....
there are more sinister tales....

but that can wait

I have not wrote as much as i was a few years back so as i noticed for i have been busy with other things while i am ashore...and plus i found that i got stalled halfway while writing..i have lost my touch and my ability to turn words into expression..and a number of writings were now in cold storage, waiting to be written again or to be thrown into the dustbin so to say..

But suddenly...

I got the urge to write again...for now i know that the person i cherish and love the most is waiting for me to write...waiting to hear stories from the seas and far away land..

And so..i am writing

Here in a crappy 4 star hotel i wrote my expression of knowing and having someone waiting for me to come back in one piece from the treacherous ocean and the unforgiving nature of sailing...

In the last 4-5 years in the service...i had never felt so reluctant to leave for another shipboard service...i had never felt so sad to leave my love one...i never had tears running when i had to leave..when i had to see her in tears....when she said how much she care about me...how she rejoice the times we had been together...

And for the first time...i had never went to sea...having the desire to come back....the desire to get into fights about insignificant things...to get into unnecessary argument...to hold our hands while walking together talking about irrelevant things.... to talk all night on the phone...going to places we had never been together..have you on my passenger side showing ways around the city....i will miss all that and i am really looking forward to do that again...

Thank you for all the things that you had done...for all the things we did together...for all the time we spend together....i will remember them...i will treasure all the memories...

Even when i am far away....do remember that i am always close to your heart and to your mind...for even we are apart...we are still living under the same skies...looking at the same moon and counting the same stars...

I will be going now...i will miss you a lot...i hate to go but i have to...

Pray to god that i will be safe...so that i will come back for you...

-only the best men can go to sea...and only the best women can be with the best men-

these last four days...
had been really meaningful to both of us
all the small things that we have done
all the memories that i will cherish the most
while i am out there in the open ocean

i will remember
bit by bit
places that we went together
what we did
what we saw
what talked over lunch
for that is the only reason for me to go on

you are the reason for me to come back
reason for all that i done in the treacherous waters
reason for all the risk i took

you are the light that shone the coast
the light that marks fairways for mariners to pass
light that gave hope to me that there is still chance for us to meet again

i will miss you a lot
for my love to you is un fathomed
like the depth of celestial heavens
like the depth of the dark ocean

thanks for all you have done these 133 days we have been together
i will cherish and appreciate it like how i did to the bluest skies

let me break the silence
that had been going on between us

i had never did the things that you said i did
i never look for someone else
or did things that you hate the most
for you are always close to my heart

i know that i had been a jerk
for getting my self on a high note
getting mad at stupid things
for thinking that you are getting mad at me

but that does not mean
that i hate you
i love you for what you are
and nothing else
just like how i love the sea breeze
the starry night skies
that reveals the center of the galaxy
and the calm seas that comes together with all of it

we had been apart for to long
and i know it had taken a toll
to both of us
where we rarely see each other
it makes us drifted further and further away

and comes the silence...

i long for your smiles
your laugh and your small talks on things
that made you shine
like the brightest night skies
over the great oceans

i miss your voice through the cellphone
although we talked for hours
and i miss your actual voice
when you are next to me
in my car driving to a destination called nowhere
or maybe at some diner in the metropolis

the warmth of your presence
soothes my soul

your punches that really hurt my shoulder
our small and petty fights
and our massive fights together
i never forget it

your mischievous calls
that always kept me awake at dawn
to remind me my responsibilities

i miss all that
i miss it all
and i will remember all that
and it will always stays in my mind

i don`t meant to leave you alone
for being alone makes me much more
restless and uncertain

maybe you were right
were getting farther and farther away
but as far as i can go on this earth
you are always close to my heart

we are far in distance
but yet you are close

for this are a note to break the silence between us

apart we have been yes i knew,
quite and in total silence yes both we have been these days thus,
i ask for forgiveness for the things that i did for I,
long for your presence that soothes me day by day
all the things that i said to you that puts you in a prolonged melancholia and
had makes us drifted apart

forgiveness is what i seek from you
and affection in adoration are what both of us were looking for
reconcile we should from this fight and
indifference in feelings to eschew while
similarities and commonalities we seek to make things better

i have not write as frequent as i had before...way before during the advent of this small blog entries that started five million years ago...

it seems to me that i have lost my touch to write (or to type to be exact)...

every time i open up the catatan baharu....i`ve feel a total emptiness...blanked and saturated

maybe it is because there are too many sites that flourish like mushroom after heavy thunderstorm that pops out here and there everyday...that have more interesting stories to tell...

but that is not the real reason of why i am not writing for quite sometimes...

have i lost interest...?

from the 26th till the 30th of March...i enslaved myself to the all the jets that were flying over the skies of Langkawi....i enslaved myself and my soul to the LIMA 2013....a revisited pilgrim that i made for the second time after the 2011 event...

The Bridge of The Americas

after 28 days of ocean passage...we arrive at the port of Balboa in Panama City located at Gulf of Panama..the capital city of Panama and also the Pacific entrance for the Panama Canal..
we anchored for a night when we arrived...and waited for our canal transit convoy orders from the canal authority which is on the next day morning..

most of us on board had never cross the Panama canal..so the atmosphere is full of excitement...

we were boarded by the pilots..the cable handlers and also their supervisors who will be the guys who handle the cables when we enter the 3 canal locks..and headed for the first canal lock, the Miraflores..

clearing the 2nd Miraflores lock...where literally our ship is climbing up to a higher ground

Miraflores had 2 sets of locks each side with 2 lock chambers enclosed by 3 lock gates...where it can accomodate 2 Panamax size ship on both side...

the Miraflores is also the entrance to the Miraflores Lake..which is enclosed by the 2 Pacific locks...

coming from the Pacific...this will be the first canal lock a vessel will enter and here you got the first glace of the intricate working of the lock systems..

we were escorted by two powerful tugs...each stationed forward and aft to assist our vessel in entering the canal and aligning itself straight to the canal entrance before the cable handlers and the locomotive took over..

the locomotive is used to guide and also to keep the vessel straight and steady in the lock chamber...

steel wires were sent from the locomotive to be tied up to the vessel and this is where the cable handlers played their roles

side by side at the Miraflores..further up is the Pedro Miguel lock before going thru the Culebra or Gaillard cut...a series of treacherous and narrow waterways..

we cleared the Miraflores lock and were inside the Miraflores lake..and we`re headed to the 2nd lock...the Pedro Miguel, a single chamber lock that completes the Pacific Locks..

from the Pedro Miguel we were ordered to come alongside at the buoy located 400 metres away from the lock..

we awaited for the southbound transit convoy to clear the Gaillard cut since the cut is narrow and the pilots insist to wait until the convoy cleared before we proceed up north

a Panamax bulk carrier heading southbound..part of the southbound convoy preps itself to enter Pedro Miguel

we proceed up river thru the Gaillard Cut..passing the Centennial Bridge...

that is the closest we can get to the lock chambers...you can put you hand on the walls...that is how close...

Culebra or Gailllard cut is a waterways..cutting through the rugged Culebra mountain terrain...forming an artificial valley..connecting the Pedro Miguel Lock in the Pacific Side to Gatun Lake and then through Gatun Lock at the Atlantic Side...

rain had reduced our visibility....a normality in tropical weather conditions...

we pass thru 7 miles of winding waterways...with mountain rigde on both sides...before coming to the arms of the Chagres River and into the Gatun Lake....

we arrive at Gatun Lock just after sunset...

the locomotive...or the mule as it is known...these are the workhorse of the Panama Canal...the machines that pulls the vessel in and steadies it while waiting for the water to rise up...

again here...the intricate working of the canal took place...the pilots assisted by tugs drives the ship closer and closer to the lock....and then orders the cable handlers to tied the vessel to the locomotives...3 each on port and starboard bow and another 3 both on port and starboard quarter...

they move in unison....bringing the ship inside the first sets of lock chambers....

then they stop....the gates were closed and then...like magic the ship were lowered down like nothing happened....

if going thru Miraflores is like climbing up a mountain..then going thru Gatun is climbing down...provided that you are coming from the Pacific Sides...unless it is vice versa if its from the Atlantic

there are 3 sets of lock chamber each on both sides of the Gatun Lock....and both were occupied by ships...going towards the Atlantic....

that is how close...the clearance...is a hand reach over to the gates....

most of us are first timers through the canal...and everyone is excited to have their photos taken...because nobody knows when are we gonna go through here since due to our unexpected trade pattern...

Nine Mike Lima Oscar Six had a very different trade route....she was destined to carry palm and coconut oils from East Malaysia and the Philippines...take it across the Pacific and have them discharged in the United States..

hearing that this ship is going to the US makes me tremble....the US coastguards...he discrimination among Muslims and Asians....tight security checks....possible terrorist threats.....all those craps...

but i have to face them....have to...because nobody cares about what are we facing and this is our livelihood....somebody have to do the donkey job coz no one else wanted to do it....

after our last port of call in Taiwan....taking in fuel and supplies...we head to the Pacific ocean....a vast open ocean...the largest ocean on this planet...that covers a quarter of the planet surface...contains 70 percent of the total amount of water....with it deepest stretch of water covers 11 000 meters....enough to dip the Everest without no one noticing....

the first two days.....it feels like any other oceans....ships are still around us....coming from the States...going to States like us....

then it started....

you see less ships....

lesser....

and then....nothing....

no ships at all...

nothing on the radio....
nothing you can see on the radar...
not even a glimpse of a ship can be seen around you.....

total emptiness.....

then it came to my mind....the prayers of the Breton`s fishermen....

'O GOD BE GOOD TO ME, THY SEA IS SO WIDE AND MY SHIP IS SO SMALL"

the prayers was so true...honest and humble....and you can see why the fishermen pray to god for his safety...and for the first time i do feel the same as him.....small...

the pacific was so wide...it takes our ship 28 days of crossings....with no land or ship sighted.....
we pass the closest land at 500 nautical miles.....that is as close as we get....

here....you do feel dwarfed by the magnificent creation of god almighty.....and you do feel that after all this times...we have been arrogant to the almighty God....we do...

sea birds and dolphins are the only living things that always playing around our ships...

the ocean are always calm.....since the captain decided to cross way south close to the equator where the weather was fine and tropical storms are rarely seen.....rains and rain clouds are the only visitors that passed us by day to day....

and here in the Pacific...is the place where i have travel to the past and the future...by crossing the International Date Line...where Sunday becomes on the next day the same Sunday and then it became Tuesday on the next day....no Monday....

the life on that 28 days....

it was not as stressful as working on ships on short voyages like the Melati class or the A class tankers....i have ample time to have a look see and for see my task....and even have spare times after all that....

still...working on any ships....it still the same...

we cross the ocean towards Balboa...where from there....another experience awaits...

-come to sea and see for yourself-ikansadinmknoranghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03119257244405095481noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4952428566061907416.post-46156949501122708952013-02-11T11:28:00.002-08:002013-02-11T11:28:34.500-08:00a navigator`s serenade - heartbreak one

tis name the training warship....

Another milestone for shipbuilding industries and also for the Royal Malaysian Navy, Gagah Samudera was launched from the slipway of NGV Tech shipyard in Sijangkang proving that Malaysian can a achieve a feat.

The Gagah Samudera is a training ship built in Malaysia and designed by a Korean shipyard Daewoo.

The hull and superstructure were shipped from Korea before being assemble by NGV Tech in its facilities. By looking at the design, it is not much to say that the vessel had similar lines to the current Kedah class patrol vessel and RMN main surface combatant, the Jebat class frigate.

Owing to similar lines and hull design, shows that this training ship is purpose built to meet RMN requirements for a dedicated for training on surface navigation and principle on warfare for officers and other ranks personnel before being transferred to actual warships in the Armada.

The helideck located athwart-ship are able to accomodate the Fennec or Super Lynx helicopter operated by the Naval Airwing, and giving this vessel traits as a training ship, might also serve as a training platform for principle helicopter operations and landing technique.

Now...

what are the significance of this training ship....

looking at the ship closely...like i mentioned before, it does have lines and designs similar to our PV`s and frigates....suggesting that, if this ship does make it into service, it could possibly lead to something much more interesting within the next few year.

what kind of interesting stuff....

a corvette type warship to fill in the gap when the FAC`s going for retirement or additional PV type warships to full fill patrol duties in our EEZ might be a good guess, all built from the basic design taken from the Korean to build this training ship...

well let us pray that this ship, and the second training ship will be accepted and flying the RMN royal colours....

-Malaysiana Rule the Waves-

the people flag

the old flag that was made new...but was it really necessary to change...

Evolusi

Jalur Gemilang still retain most of its predecessor traits...kredit foto BERNAMA

the merchantmen pride

part of my line of work is to maintain my vessel....flying Malaysian flag and registered in Malaysia to maintain its high standard of safety and conformance with international and flag state requirement in all aspect.....

this is to avoid any detention or remarks of non conformance by third party inspections or port state the ship is visiting...thus at the same time keeping a good name for the flag it carries...

many of us Malaysian landlubbers did not know this...but our line of work had a very close relations to the flag of the vessel....even more to vessel flying a Malaysian flag...

a part from being part of the global network of trade....a good track record in 3rd party inspection and port state inspection not only gives good business ratings...but it also reflects the flag state of the ship...

this is how us....Malaysian seafarers respect our flags....by keeping high standard of qualities in every aspects....so that the flag is not tarnished by bad records and observations that will effect the flag state of the vessel it self....

having to know that some people wanted to change the flag...for some political drives makes me sad...for it shows that what we have been doing before were not known by others outside the industries....

and to show to those who wanted to change the flag....this is our flag that you want to remove....which is flying on almost a thousand plus ship registered in a country called MALAYSIA...
please....do what ever you want....but don`t change the flag....its our pride and joy...it is what drives us and reminds us of where we belong regardless of who and what will become of Malaysia....while we are out in the open ocean which is a no mans land...or in a foreign far away nations.....

...................

1st of all....Salaam Eid Ul Fitr....thousand apologies i seek from all....for my wrong doings...if there is any...

This year...just like last few years...i celebrated Eid at sea....well technically we are celebrating Eid some 40 nautical miles off the coast of Sarawak....not so perantauan like others who celebrate their Eid at the farside of the world...haha...and not well cut off from the outside world since lines of communications are available....so can make phone call to all the wive(s) and awek(s)....(mak bapak juga tidak dilupa)

anyway...

this year Eid is a bit hambar...not so meriah (what does mat salleh call meriah eh..)....well maybe because first and foremost...our cook x boleh blah in his cooking...my mate kata nokhorooom pemalaih tahap nurako durjono....2nd...by evening were coming alongside to Bintulu...to load another seven thousand tonnes plus of palm oil....so most of us took the opportunity to get a well earn rest before going back to work....

still....the spirit of Eid is still there...the morning prayers...all the makan2...the sound of Dendang Perantau and all the other lagu raya in the air played by Klasik Nasional FM...and all of us going about around the ship with baju melayu and samping.....

and deep within our (or mine) heart...we do feel sad (tipu la x sedih)......for this Eid...we are apart from our own families and those who we love the most....but having each and everyone of us around...lessen the sadness...brought back the family spirits and brotherhood...although we are not related in blood...

well...

from the navigation bridge...cargo control room and the engine control room of the MT BUNGA BANYAN....Salaam Eid Mubarak...
the NineMikeLimaOscarSix - MT Bunga Banyan at Lahad Datu Anchorage

this page went silent 5 weeks ago...due to sudden call from my corporation to join MT Bunga Banyan...

well..like always..and like all those who are loyal (loyal lah sangat aku ni) to this corporation...i agree to join and relieve my fellow mate onboard...thus making a record of 3 years of consecutive hari raya celebration onboard....well three years is nothing compared to others who had not been able to celebrate Eid at home way longer than myself...coz till now i had known others who had not been back for 5-6 consecutive year...

anyway...the B class...like what others called this ship (due to all the ship in this class were named after flower starting with letter B...i.e Bakawali..Begonia..Balsam and Banyan) is a much different world compared to the Melati class tankers....

larger ship...larger cargo capacity...a lil bit longer and deeper (sounds like a porn..?) but less crew onboard....plus its a new ship...just a year old..compared to the seasoned Melati class which already reach 15 plus years....and a lot of new things to learn....

generally...all ship is the same....but there are differences from one ship to another that one must adjust self to familiar with it...

plus...voyages here are much longer compared to the Melati class....crossing Pacific and the Atlantic or going around Magellan Straits or South Africa is a norm....while Panama is the main transit canal for these new and massive lady....

ports are also attractive....apart from China and Malaysian ports...this ship calls US ports in the eastern seaboard and the Latin Americas....a must for a mariners like me to experience at least once...

new ship...new experience....

this will be the turning point...i might stay with this corporation for a little while...or i might stay here till end...ending up not venturing to other corporations which was my initial plans...

well man can plans whatever he wants....but God still have the power to decide what is what...

till then...

-come to sea and see for yourself-

ikansadinmknoranghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03119257244405095481noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4952428566061907416.post-61667371879573535632012-08-14T07:49:00.004-07:002012-08-14T08:12:52.776-07:00Salam Ramadhan From NineMikeLimaOscarSixfrom far away land...far away lah sangat..

Alpinia - listed to port and still on fire. credit photo to NST

0230H on July 26th would go down as the darkest day in the Malaysian shipping industries....and also for my corporation....

most of us...knew those who perished in the incident....directly or indirectly....whether fellow shipmates in previous shipboard contracts or fellow friends since training days...we knew at least one of them if not all of them...

and furthermore...we knew those who survive either....

the corporation is not really that big...we knew who is who in which ship across the fleet...and most of us had mingle together as shipmates if not many times then it would be at least once in the career....

knowing that we had lost those who we knew...is unbearable....

my mate knew the pumpman and the greaser....whom he sailed before onboard A class tanker similar to Alpinia...knew them very well that he even thought about how would arwah only child would fared with her mother knowing that his father had passed on....while the greaser....whom were dreaming of becoming engineer for near coastal ship were also very close to my mate...

and then there is me....who knew the young OS way back when he first come to work on a ship....

then there are others whom i might not knew but knew all those who perished really well..the deck rating..the cadet..the able seaman...whom maybe they had sailed together maybe again and again....and not to forget..family members...who grieved their losses the most...

the fact that they had passed on cant be denied....god loves them more than us...

and my writings here are not to speculate the incident...since a lot of rumors and incorrect reporting by our local media had spread across the nation....

till the time of this writings...my corporation are still investigating the cause of the fire and explosion....and they said themselves that...they don`t mind loosing the ship....since ship can be build and can be bought...but loosing their own sea staff is really hard and even you had billions of dollar of revenue....you cant bring the dead to life.....

and here the reality sets in....

seafaring is the most regulated industry...and also the most dangerous...but all the danger is mitigated by safety culture and awareness instilled among professional mariners...but then again...incidents and accidents..sometimes lead to fatalities did occurs now and then....

and not many of us..outside the industry knew this....most of them thought...sailing is easy...goyang kaki saja punya kerja.....but truth is it is not....

pressure from the corporation...charterer,flag and port states are also high...to ensure ship safety are always maintained on a high standard...

but whatever man did..god wills are never within the control of man....manusia merancang namun tuhan menentukan segalanya...no matter how high you standard of safety is....but then...it doesnt mean we leave it to god...for man`s fate will not be changed unless he who change it himself...

and thus...the passing of our fellow shipmates will never be in vain...and will be remembered....

Al Fatihah and condolences to those who had passed on...and keep on sailing to those who survived

-god speed..fairwinds and following seas-
you had truly gone home

this entry is dedicated to all 5 seafarers who lost their souls in the MT Bunga Alpinia incident....whom one of them i sailed before...and others...had been sailing with my fellow shipmates across the fleet..

to Hanafi...the OS whom i sailed before onboard MT Bunga Melati 3....i never thought our meetings onboard 3 would be the first and the last...i still got your photos...posing next to Chief Darmanshah..the SPG team in charge whilst transiting GOA...during a buffet dinner...when the karaoke sessions at the officers lounge with the SPG`s....

i still remember the first time you came onboard...joining Melati 3 as first ship OS...when you were awed by the sheer size of Melati 3...when we laughed a lot when you were conned by AO saying that you got to pay the electricity bills and water bills to chief mate and second engineer...when you were talking about your days in the training college...towards your innocence when you ask about stuff about ships....how you want to become deck officers and so on....i fondly remember all those times...

we will cherished and remember those days...

truthfully...i only know you as fellow shipmate..as my subordinate....and not more than that...maybe not like your fellow family and friends back in your college or back at home...but within my cold rock hard heart...i deeply saddened just like the others did....

tears came our when i wrote this entry....how sad it is to loose a person whom i worked together with...although it was only for a short period of time...but knowing that i knew you and i had sailed with you really making it hard to this heart...

truly....your passing will never be in vain...

minggu lepas...saya pergi jalan2 sorang2 sebab xde kawan....kawan2 semua kerja...saya sahaja x kerja....jadi saya jalan sorang2.... <-----forever alone =__="

saya tiba disana jam tiga petang....

adik akak tengok helikopter...

krew Super Lynx melayan pengunjung...

adik nih cakap "tolong laaa...jangan la buli...."

elok jam lima...saya pun pulanglah....pulang lah sangat....huahuahua....

-cuti2 Malaysia.....-

there are news stating that our Chief Of Navy is interested and pushing our government to purchase 2 (dua kah..atau lebih) Oliver Hazard Perry class frigate from the United States Navy...

many would say that it will be a good purchase...

but not me...

why is that..?

photo shown above are the Ocean Odyssey 4 months ago (yeah..sudah basi)....a semi submersible platform which is being utilized by Sea Launch as the rocket launch platform at sea...and it is undergoing repair and maintenance...in MMHE, Pasir Gudang....can read it here on my age old post of the Sea Launch

yes...in Pasir Gudang....

i dont know what kind of repairs they were having...or to what degree the maintenance were being carried out...but it shows that...even a company...that launch billion dollar satellite using Ukrainian made Zenit3SL rocket are being sent to our shores for repairs...showing that they are confident with us Malaysian capabilities...

now..if those foreign nationals do trust and have the confidence towards us...then why oh why our own countrymen were not...why we keep on sending our own ships to shipyards outside our own country...why we kept on relying on on foreign nationals where we have a lot of national talents....

sad...but it is true...

anyway...

salutations to MMHE...its staff and all the contractors....you made us Malaysian proud...

on 25th June every year...is the day of the seafarer....the day that marked by international communities to remember,to appreciate and to celebrate seafarers who are the backbone of global trades...

yeah...me and me mates are the backbone of global trades bebeh....

then why is that i said such a thing...

lets ponder for a moment....

have we ever think where the hell TNB got the means to power their powerplants to provide electricity to the masses...so that we can watch Master Chef Celebrity Malaysia on Astro...so that we can surf the net...so that we can use the air conditioning on a hot tropical afternoon norm to Malaysia...so our electrical appliances are working as it is supposed to be....how and where does the electricity came from...

it came from a far away land.....through the seas...

most of our powerplants are generating power using coal and gas....apart from hydroelectric which is also our doings (serious)..have you ever wonder where does the coal came from...how it was transported....and where they unload it...?

what is a coal powered powerplant without coal....Janamanjung will be dead and part of West coast will have no electricity....so a steady supply of coal were bought from Aussies....taken by a massive bulk carrier manned by mens called seafarers....yes...it was us who brought light to the nation...(not the menteris)...

and what is a hydroelectric plants...if there are nobody to transport its massive turbines...i dont recall we made the turbine ourselves but we did bought them from somewhere and there is no air transport that can carry that massive hydroelectric turbine....

and apart from power generations...ever daily items that we use...from televisions to Ipads to tabs to cars and fuels that we use to work...even a pen and a rubber...your laptop computers...the coffee that your having...of the croissant that your having while reading this post.the oven use to make that croissant..the flour..the cooking oil the additives...even the chair, the table you were sitting at,the clothes you were wearing...almost everything in your household or in the kedai raayat sathu Mareshia came from somewhere else and had a moment in its life living on a hold of a ship...

and these ships are operated by us seafarers (although owned by kompeni)....who ventured to the massive oceans...to nations never been heard before...through raging gales and storms over rolling seas and roaring winds....being chased by fukken pirates...being shot at by warring states...being scrutinized by communities saying that we are nothing but a bunch of men who only live for intoxications and pleasures....

it is us....seafarers...mariners...navigators and marine engineers who brought all of it to your door steps...

we are the driving force...who keep the sea lanes of communications open...who continue the significance of trades....

and without us...well...you can rely on airlines....but wait...even they are relying on us...take every massive parts of the aircraft from one place to another...

so how is that...?

i asked nothing much...but take a moment and have a thought to ponder....

where does all of these thing that i have here came from....and who brought it there...
