Welcome Aboard Mariners Alike - Malaysia Rule The Waves

its hard to describe how a man could left everything he had on land and went out to sea...
its even harder to describe how bright the stars at night and how fresh the cool morning air when you are in the middle of the ocean...
the hardest thing is to describe how close you are to death and how god could took your life at any time...
come to sea and see for yourself...

GOD SPEED AND FAIR WINDS

come to sea and see for yourself

this blog is dedicated to mariners, navigators and seafarers alike, merchant or naval for others to had a glimpse of what we do and what we faced in the vast blue oceans.

kapal best - Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC)

entri amphibious assault....american style...

no beach is out of reach...power

its been awhile since my last post on superb ships of the world....and here is a Landing Craft Air Cushion...from the one and only global superpower..the United States of America...

The LCAC as it is known is an amphibious landing craft..capable of carrying 60 tonnes of load..from military vehicles and equipments to 24 troops at one time..deployed from amphibious assault ship with well deck...a transport model can seat 180 fully equipped troops
Initially the craft is powered by 4 Avco-Lycoming TF-40B gas turbines (2 for propulsion/2 for lift) of 16,000 horsepower sustained...this craft can go up to 40 knots with full load and 75 knots maximum before going for ship life extention programme which saw 4 Vericor Power Systems ETF-40B gas turbines with Full Authority Digital Engine Control being fitted...further enhanced the craft capability...The four main engines are all used for lift and all used for main propulsion. They are interchangeable for redundancy.

Their payload and speed mean more forces reach the shore in a shorter time, with shorter intervals between trips. The air cushion allows this vehicle to reach more than 70 percent of the world's coastline..which also includes arctic coastlines...

amphibious capabilities in horde...run when u see them...

USN operates 74 units of LCAC under Assault Craft Unit 4 and Assault Craft Unit 5 both based at Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek,Norfolk Virgina and Bellows Air Force Base,Hawaii.

6 unit were purchased and operated by Japan Maritime Self Defense Force.

 power..!!

-come to sea and see for yourself-
