Welcome Aboard Mariners Alike - Malaysia Rule The Waves

its hard to describe how a man could left everything he had on land and went out to sea...
its even harder to describe how bright the stars at night and how fresh the cool morning air when you are in the middle of the ocean...
the hardest thing is to describe how close you are to death and how god could took your life at any time...
come to sea and see for yourself...

GOD SPEED AND FAIR WINDS

come to sea and see for yourself

this blog is dedicated to mariners, navigators and seafarers alike, merchant or naval for others to had a glimpse of what we do and what we faced in the vast blue oceans.

panorama di laut biru - we have the capabilities

entri bangga gila...

that baby carry rockets..and hurl em into space...

photo shown above are the Ocean Odyssey 4 months ago (yeah..sudah basi)....a semi submersible platform which is being utilized by Sea Launch as the rocket launch platform at sea...and it is undergoing repair and maintenance...in MMHE, Pasir Gudang....can read it here on my age old post of the Sea Launch

yes...in Pasir Gudang....

i dont know what kind of repairs they were having...or to what degree the maintenance were being carried out...but it shows that...even a company...that launch billion dollar satellite using Ukrainian made Zenit3SL rocket are being sent to our shores for repairs...showing that they are confident with us Malaysian capabilities...

now..if those foreign nationals do trust and have the confidence towards us...then why oh why our own countrymen were not...why we keep on sending our own ships to shipyards outside our own country...why we kept on relying on on foreign nationals where we have a lot of national talents....

sad...but it is true...

anyway...

salutations to MMHE...its staff and all the contractors....you made us Malaysian proud...

credit to my mate Jolly Roger who took the photo

panorama di laut biru - Day of The Seafarers

entri hari pelaut....yg terlewat

on 25th June every year...is the day of the seafarer....the day that marked by international communities to remember,to appreciate and to celebrate seafarers who are the backbone of global trades...

yeah...me and me mates are the backbone of global trades bebeh....

then why is that i said such a thing...

lets ponder for a moment....

have we ever think where the hell TNB got the means to power their powerplants to provide electricity to the masses...so that we can watch Master Chef Celebrity Malaysia on Astro...so that we can surf the net...so that we can use the air conditioning on a hot tropical afternoon norm to Malaysia...so our electrical appliances are working as it is supposed to be....how and where does the electricity came from...

it came from a far away land.....through the seas...

most of our powerplants are generating power using coal and gas....apart from hydroelectric which is also our doings (serious)..have you ever wonder where does the coal came from...how it was transported....and where they unload it...?

what is a coal powered powerplant without coal....Janamanjung will be dead and part of West coast will have no electricity....so a steady supply of coal were bought from Aussies....taken by a massive bulk carrier manned by mens called seafarers....yes...it was us who brought light to the nation...(not the menteris)...

and what is a hydroelectric plants...if there are nobody to transport its massive turbines...i dont recall we made the turbine ourselves but we did bought them from somewhere and there is no air transport that can carry that massive hydroelectric turbine....

and apart from power generations...ever daily items that we use...from televisions to Ipads to tabs to cars and fuels that we use to work...even a pen and a rubber...your laptop computers...the coffee that your having...of the croissant that your having while reading this post.the oven use to make that croissant..the flour..the cooking oil the additives...even the chair, the table you were sitting at,the clothes you were wearing...almost everything in your household or in the kedai raayat sathu Mareshia came from somewhere else and had a moment in its life living on a hold of a ship...

and these ships are operated by us seafarers (although owned by kompeni)....who ventured to the massive oceans...to nations never been heard before...through raging gales and storms over rolling seas and roaring winds....being chased by fukken pirates...being shot at by warring states...being scrutinized by communities saying that we are nothing but a bunch of men who only live for intoxications and pleasures....

it is us....seafarers...mariners...navigators and marine engineers who brought all of it to your door steps...

we are the driving force...who keep the sea lanes of communications open...who continue the significance of trades....

and without us...well...you can rely on airlines....but wait...even they are relying on us...take every massive parts of the aircraft from one place to another...

so how is that...?

i asked nothing much...but take a moment and have a thought to ponder....

where does all of these thing that i have here came from....and who brought it there...

-it came by the seas and i cant live without it-

panorama di laut biru - close quarter situation....as close as possible....

entri CPA 0.0.....this is really2 close...

shit...this is waaay to close....!!!

many landlubbers asked how close can we get when passing another ship...

well...i followed master standing order...if he said passing distance 2nm....then 2 it is...but depending on the situation...by taking into consideration of sea room...traffic density..navigational hazard...depth of water...etc...etc...etc...this can get from 2nm to less...

but in the pic shown above....well that is toooo close....cross my finger...one of the crew can jump on the other ship forecastle...just to show how bloody close both ship were at that time...ouh..credit this pic to gcaptain...check more photos of this incident here...

by the way...no paint were scratched in this incident...furthermore..both ship were intact...no damage...no loss of life...no environmental impact...no oil spill...but this is way too close...and this is dangerous i kid you not...

dont do this mate...kapten konfirm melompat...kalau bercium...bukan kapten je...opis pun melompat....

story of a watchkeeping officer - MT BUNGA LAUREL : HIJACK AND RETAKE

entri "eat lead you skinny bastards...!!"

MT BUNGA LAUREL callsign 3EYR7 (ThreeEchoYankeeRomeoSeven)

ya btul...MT BUNGA LAUREL kena hijack dengan lanun Somalia...sejam selepas BM5 declare detachment of escort kat waypoint Easton bersama2 LNG/C MT SERI BALHAF....

skinny bastards...never dare to climb onboard any of my company ships...!

anyway...congrats utk Shipboard Protection Team...krew BM5 dan Fennec crew...air and ground....aku mmg dah tau korang mmg power...

THANK YOU FOR THE ESCORT...HIGHLY APPRECIATE IT....

MV ALBEDO - KENA HIJACK SEBAB TIDAK DI ESCORT..??

entri kesian kapal itu...

kapal kontena hijau ni namanya Albedo...callsign 9MDS9...

ok...kapal Malaysia kena hijack lagi...ini x best...

korang mesti tanya...."eh..ni kapal MISC gak ke...??"

lah..ape kat Malaysia ni MISC je ke kompeni kapal....dah tentu ade lg kompeni2 kecik yg di miliki oleh taiko2 dan tai long kaya dimana mrk jugak ade kapal...cuma x byk mcm kompeni aku je...

aku tau kisah hijack terbaru ni betul2 pd hari aku sign off...check2 balik rupa2nya kapal ni dah kena hijack 4 hari sebelumnya...maknanya aku x baca EGC message utk piracy...sbb 26hb tu...ak kat kapal lagi...chait...sungguh balok aku nih...msg pn malas baca...ngahahhaaa...

anyway...kenapa tiba2 aku menulis ttg kes ni...??

ok...semua kapal MISC...dah nk wat camne...kapal2 diaorang je yg lalu Aden...kapal kompeni lain...xde pun...jumpa pn x...

pertama - kes ini berlaku kepada kapal yg didaftarkan di Malaysia tetapi bukan milik MISC..soalan2 yg dibangkitkan..."escort ni utk MISC scr eksklusifnya kah..??"

Pertama : Ops Fajar adalah operasi yg melibatkan penggunaan aset awam yg diubahsuai utk kegunaan escort(BM5)...dilengkapi aset organik (helikopter) dan mempunyai satu pasukan khas utk tugasan tersebut..cukup utk melaksanakan cegah rintang terhadap cubaan lanun utk hijack kapal dan bukan utk take over kapal yg sudah dihijack...tugasan hakiki task group ini hanyalah escort...

Ops Fajar bukanlah scr eksklusifnya utk MISC...ttp utk kapal2 dagang yg didaftarkan di Malaysia yg membawa komoditi negara dan juga kapal2 dagang milik syarikat negara yg x didaftarkan di Malaysia tetapi membawa komoditi negara...keyword disini adalah komoditi..

apa yg jadi sekarang adalah...nampak macam monopoli escort ni tertumpu kepada MISC sbb kapal2 kompeni ni je yg selalu menggunakan Gulf of Aden utk ke Eropah dan Timur Jauh vice versa...melalui terusan Suez...

selama aku kat MT BUNGA MELATI 3...aku ingat aku jumpa kapal dari kompeni lain sebijik je...tu pun pergi ke Persian Gulf dan x lalu pun Aden....kebanyakan masanya...kapal2 MISC...xpun kapal2 AET...

so issue ops ini eksklusif utk MISC je x timbul...sebab mmg ada ruang utk kapal2 lain utk join escort...even kapal2 luar pun ade gak follow konvoi scr x rasmi....cuma trading route MISC yg perlukan pergerakan dari timur ke barat dan vice versa melalui Aden yg menampakkan escort ni cam eksklusif utk kompeni aku je....

xde lah....

kedua - kes ini terjadi lebih kurang 900Nm dr Somalia...soalannya.."rasanya 900nm tu jauh..camne lanun2 ni leh sebat kapal ni sedangkan bdk2 kurus ni pakai bot enjin sangkut je..??"

kurang lebih..mcm ini rupa bot ikan laut dalam yg bdk2 itam tu jadikan mothership..USN nye bdk pn kaki panjat kapal gak...hahaha...

kedua : 900nm dr pesisir pantai somalia....dengar macam jauh gila...tapi xde lah jauh mana...trend pelanunan sekarang bukan lagi dgn bot2 ikan kecik dgn enjin bot sangkut dan bermain2 di pesisir pantai somalia dlm lingkungan 25-50nm....

logiknya...mana boleh bot enjin sangkut pergi sampai 900nm...nak cecah 50nm pun nazak....so lanun2 ni menggunakan konsep "mothership"...

mothership ni..pada waktu awal aktiviti pelanunan ni...hanya sekadar sebuah bot ikan laut dalam proper...yg mungkin dirembat dari nelayan Taiwan atau Siam...so bot ikan nih diguna sbg forward operating base utk bdk2 itam nih....

kalau korang tgk gambo ni btul2...ade bot enjin sangkut...tangga besi utk panjat kapal dan selonggok senjata...bdk2 itam da takut...sbb bdk2 navy dtg....

so kalau ade bot ikan besar ni...mesti ada bot ikan kecik2 yg org dok panggil "skiff" tuh...jadi dgn bot ikan besar tuh...dapatlah geng2 budak itam ni menjangkau jarak operasi hijack sehingga 200-300nm dr pantai....

so xde masalah utk request escort sebenarnya...byk angkatan laut yg standby utk membantu....

keempat - nampak gaya kena tambah lagi kapal utk kerja2 escort....lagi elok ada kapal perang proper kan..??

BM5 iring hijau...!!

tanbah kapal auxiliary...mungkin...sbb memang ada request utk mendapatkan 2nd auxiliary vessel utk cover kawasan perairan yg lebih luardan menyediakan laluan dan koordinasi escort yg lebih efektif....

nak hantar kapal perang...i dont think so...

escort...jgn jalan sorang2...bahaya....

BM5 tu pun dah cukup gagah utk stay disana....it just..lagi baik kalau ade satu lagi auxiliary vessel...

dan apa tindakan yg akan diambil utk pembebasan Albedo..??...itu antara pemilik kapal dan kerajaan...kalau perlu take over...ku rasa RMN mmg siap sedia utk laksanakannya....

kita tgk laa apa jadi...

panorama di laut biru - susah kalau orang x angkat tau...

entri keluh kesah pelaut...ku jumpa ini di Utusan Malaysia Online... at least ada la benda yg bagus utk dibaca dlm akhbar Utusan selain politik UMNO..dan Barisan yg x habis2....atau pasal artis2 bodoh...fcuk off lah..bosan lakhnath..!!!..

oh sorry emo lak..dah2..baca pasal akak nih...kesian dia...kesian gak kat aku nih dan member2 dan officer2 dan krew2 kapal..yg didarat dan di kapal sana...tlg laa dgr rintihan kami nih...jgn wat x tau je ok...kami ni orang..bukan robot R2D2...

sea staff bukan R2D2...mrk juga manusia...

SUSAH PAYAH PELAUT NEGARA MENCARI REZEKI...

Diharap pihak berwajib tolonglah buat sesuatu.

harapnya kompeni angkat tau cepat sebelum ramai lagi yg merajuk...ramai yg keciwa..ramai yg tunggu perubahan...ramai yg dah give up...jgn smpai sea staff berhenti kerja beramai-ramai...take note..!!

ku juga syg sama kompeni...tp kalau lg syg foreign seafarers...ku rasa xde makna lagi utk ku berkhidmat di kapal dgn register Port Klang dgn ensign negara...

"and Seaman... just like a falling oak... manages to change directions"

entri pemalas bulan mei...deskripsi seafarers yg ku kutip dr tempat yg random...hampir semuanya betul...tp x semuanya betul....

No one is subject to so much abuse, wrongly accused,
So often misunderstood by so many as a seaman....

Between the innocence of infancy and
The recklessness of adultery comes that unique
Specimen of humanity known as a seaman
Seamen can be found in bars, in arguments
In bed, in debt and intoxicated.
They are tall, short, fat, thin, dark, fair but never normal.
They dislike ships food, chief engineers, writing letters
Sailing on Saturdays and dry ships.
They like receiving mail, paying off day, nude pin ups,
Sympathy, complaining and beer.
A seamans secret ambition is to change positions
With the owner for just one trip, to own a brewery
And to be loved by everyone in the world.
A seaman is a Sir Galahad in a Japenese brothel,
A pyschiatrist with Readers Digest on the table,
Don Quixote with a discharge book,
The saviour of mankind with his back teeth awash,
Valentino with a fiver in his back pocket and
Democracy personified in a red Chinese prison cell.
No one is subject to so much abuse, wrongly accused,
So often misunderstood by so many as a seaman.
He has the patience of Job, the honesty of a fool,
And the heaven sent ability to laugh at himself.
When he returns home from a long voyage
No one else but a seaman can create such an atmosphere
Of suspense and longing as he walks through the door
With the magic words on his lips,
HAVE YOU GOT THE ALE IN THEN?

only the best men can go to sea...and only the best women can be with the best men...

"i`m not good at words...but what i know is that..although i am at some faraway seas and on foreign soil...i just cant look away and forget your smiles...your dreamy eyes...and your soothing presence...your smooth and warm touch...and your sweet candy lips that never stop calling my name...i miss you and i will return for you on the first landfall..."

"a women who loves me should know me the way i know the oceans.."

...so pray for me...pray for calm seas...pray for fair winds...and pray for red skies at night...for i will always be safe and god will always be good to me...and i could return to you the same way i went"

"o dark skies...o high seas...o gale winds...o i beg for your mercy...for my women awaits me at the docks for my safe return...be good to me and spare my ship o great owner of the wide oceans..."

"o god be good to me...thy sea is so wide and my ship is so small"

nautical studies - melawan lanun...!!!

entri utk landlubbers mengenai pelanunan...lanun vcd cetak rompak adalah x termasuk dlm kategori ini...sila ke site lain utk lanun vcd...thanx...

gangsta paradise...bad boys forever..sekolah lanun al kunta-kinte...batch 2007

wahaha....

member aku tanya...

"weh...kalau lanun naik kapal ko...ape ko buat..??"

soalan ni mmg soalan favourite subjek Bahasa Malaysia bg kertas Penulisan khas utk peperiksaan STPM...maka tajuk ini diulang sejak 3 tahun lepas oleh Lembaga Peperiksaan bg memecahkan kepala pelajar..menyebabkan penurunan peratus lulus dlm kertas Penulisan Bahasa Malaysia...

"ko ni main2 ngan aku kan...sial je.."

wahahaha...

ok2...serius...

IMO definition stated that attack inside territorial waters are not piracy while any attack outside are considered as piracy....

serangan keatas kapal dlm wilayah laut sesebuah negara tidak dikira sbg pelanunan ttp serangan diluar wilayah laut sesebuah negara..atau dlm perairan antarabangsa dikira sebagai tindakan pelanunan...

definisi pelanunan bg United Nation Convention on the Laws of th Seas (UNLCLOS) pula menyatakan...

Piracy as defined in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) of 1982 Article 101 consists of:

(a) any illegal acts of violence or detention, or any act of depredation, committed for private ends by the crew or the passengers of a private ship or a private aircraft, and directed:

(i) on the high seas, against another ship or aircraft, or against persons or property on board such ship or aircraft;

(ii) against a ship, aircraft, persons or property in a place outside the jurisdiction of any State;

(b) any act of voluntary participation in the operation of a ship or of an aircraft with knowledge of facts making it a pirate ship or aircraft;

(c) any act of inciting or of intentionally facilitating an act described in subparagraph (a) or (b).

"wah...canggih sial..lanun ade definisi tersendiri laa....tp aku x paham sebab ko tulis dlm bahasa Inggeris..huhu"

ade aku kisah....aku rasa korang leh interpret sendiri ape ditulis dlm bahasa penjajah tu...korang sume kan skolah tinggi2...wahahaha...x paham maksud...bukak dictionary...xpun tanya saya...

ok...

"abis kat Aden tu camne..??"

dlm kes Teluk Aden...definisi ni bertepatan dgn keadaan disana...

"oh...tepat lak..dan2 je.."

ok..balik kpd soalan member aku tu...ape kapal buat bila kena attack ngan lanun...

"dah tu...ape benda prosedur2 nye..dr tadi aku tunggu ko...da berjanggut nih..."

senang cerita...ak bg korang satu situasi....

situasi satu...

story of watchkeeping officer - oh crap pirates (part 1)
story of watchkeeping officer - oh crap pirates (part 2)

kalau nk penjelasan yg akademik dan bukan ala2 drama dari astro mustika...aku sarankan korang baca posting aku yg ni lak...ini nukilan kasar utk paper diploma aku...aku rasa korang akan lebih paham sbb dlm ni complete aku cite psal lanun nih...

Pirates of The New World Order (Part 1)
Pirate of The New World Order (Part 2)

sambung balik...

so lanun ni cam aku cakap td...keje dia dan base dia dan spesies dia bukan kat Aden tu je...Selat Melaka depan mata korang ni pun ade lanun...tu kat Nigeria sana...pun ade gak..tp nama lanun diaorang gempak...diaorang dipanggil Emancipation of Niger Delta...geng ni x attack kapal tp attack refinery...floating platform..dan lain2 fasilitas berkaitan eksplorasi..carigali dan pemprosesan petroleum...sebab x dpt wang royalti...nnt ak nk suruh Kelantan form up group camni utk tuntut royalti minyak gak laa...supply AK-47 kat diaorang....wahahaha...

Bangladesh pun dikira hotspot yg mana lanun agak notoriuos dlm kerja2 mereka menyamun dan merembat barang2 kapal....tp mereka x se otai Somalia sbb xde yg hijack kapal mat2 Bangla ni...die samun je...

gamba cam sial...tp xpe..nmpak x comparison tinggi kapal ngan bot kecik tu...setingkat umah je..itu namanya deep draft low freeboard vessel...senang dipanjat lanun..

"eh..camne lanun tu attack korang eh..die panjat kapal tu pakai ape...x tinggi ke..??"

haa...ni ak nk cerita ni...

lanun2 ni pandai...dia pilih kapal ikut draft..maksudnya kapal yg deep draft senang nk dipanjat...sbb freeboard die rendah...pakai tangga besi yg ade kat umah korang tu pun leh panjat...tp kalau kapal tu draft die biasa...x dalam sgt...maka freeboard tinggi...lalu menyusahkan lanun tu nk panjat...silap2 kne bawak kereta bomba utk panjat...

satu lagi...lanun kejar kapal yg slow je...cam tanker...yg mana speed alang2 14 knots...paling laju leh ligan 17 knots kalau current tolak blakang....jd bila da itu mcm punya speed....senang laa mamat2 ni nak kejar..pakai speedboat je...kena lak speedboat 4 enjin 200hp...wah..kalah rhib askar....

then...lanun ni..dia attack time pagi pas subuh...ngan mlam time nk masuk maghrib...sbb time ni gelap x gelap...org pun nmpak x nmpak...diaorang x leh attack malam sbb gelap sgt...then lagi senang kantoi...siang lagi laa...20 batu dah leh nampak...mmg amat kantoi...

pastu...ade gak lanun yg menyamar jd nelayan miskin...tp sebenarnya penyamun..konon nak jual ikan tp sebenarnya nk rembat kapal...kalu ade lak krew yg innocent tu konon nk tolong saudara se agama atau nk tolong orang msikin...pergi layan plak..skali baik die kuar AK-47..haa..nganga laaa.....

last...point paling penting...lanun ni berkembang kat kawasan2 yg mana negaranya miskin tegar...makanan xde...duit pun xde...kerja pun dpt ciput je...maka penduduk2 tempatan ni ambil jalan mudah...merembat duit org lain...kalau korang tgk area2 lanun ni...semua dekat dgn negara2 miskin atau dlm negara miskin cam Nigeria..Somalia..Bangladesh....mane ade lanun dok kacau org kat UK sana tu...sana semua org ade duit...xde nk rembat kapal...

tu je laa.....pae lg nk cite...

tu lah kurang lebih pasal lanun nih...ak dah buat byk entri pasal benda alah ni taun lepas...siap bg link lg kat korang nk suruh pandai....tp fine..demi sharing is caring...ak cite lah lagi...x paham tanye...
